Montreal, August 7th, 2012 - It’s that time of the year again! The International Freeski Film Festival 2012 ski film selection has been made! The iF3 2012 tour recently kicked off on August 3rd with its newest installment, iF3 La Parva, a unique night of movies and celebrations in Santiago, Chile. The Nike iF3 in Montreal will take place in a little over a month from September 12-16th. Following the Montreal edition, iF3 will take the show on the road to Annecy, France, and will introduce a new stop in Innsbruck, Austria.
Global expansion has always been a driving force behind iF3, and even while growing the tour with new events and initiatives, iF3 has managed to keep a focus on the number one objective-- uniting and promoting all aspects of freeskiing. iF3 celebrates athletes, film producers, photographers and journalists who consistently push the limits of skiing and progress, not only of the sport, but of the whole community.
The 2012 Nike iF3: five unforgettable days in Montreal’s Quartier des Spectacles
This year’s schedule is better than ever! Movie screenings are moving to the historic Monument National theatre, located directly across from the brand new iF3 Outdoor Village in Montreal’s “Peace Park”, which will showcase a variety of interactive activities along with The North Face Outdoor Movie Screening. New this year, iF3 will host a movie screening showcasing freeskiing females followed with a girl-specific autograph session. Festivities begin Wednesday, September 12th at the Oberson Athlete Autograph Session, where the world’s top skiers will be present to sign posters for fans and the general public.
iF3 Europe, presented by Sosh, returns for round three in Annecy, France
From September 28th to the 30th, iF3 will take the party back to Annecy for two days of non-stop iF3 Europe action. Meet the world’s best film producers and athletes, and be one of the first to see what they created during the 2011/2012 season.
Movies, music and glacier riding in Innsbruck, Austria
The breathtaking city of Innsbruck, along with Oakley, will be presenting iF3 Innsbruck on October 5th and 6th for two days of festivities; movies, parties, art exhibits, autograph sessions, concerts, and for the first time ever, an airbag session! If you happen to be in town earlier in the week (October 1st to the 4th) and want to get your shred on, make sure to check out the iF3 Glacier Week at Hinterlux - expect a swarm of pro athletes, photographers and filmers to be taking advantage of the sunny glacier riding before showcasing their films, edits, and documentaries from the 2011/2012 winter.
