CALGARY, ALBERTA – Celebrate New Year’s Eve in the mountains. Whether you choose to welcome 2004 at Lake Louise, Kimberley or Fernie, there are activities and entertainment for all ages.

Ring in the New Year at Kimberley Alpine Resort, where there are two parties
to choose from. For the adults, DJ Monica will be spinning tunes at the
Last Run in the North Star Centre. Cocktails begin at 6:30 pm followed by a
dinner and a dance with midnight bubbly. For the family, an Old Fashioned
New Year’s celebration is in store at the Trickle Creek Winter Adventure
Park. Join in the fun with horse drawn sleigh rides and skating on the
outdoor pond, and then cozy up to the bonfire with pizza and marshmallows.
There will be complimentary snowshoe, cross-country ski and sled rentals all
evening. Guests can participate in the Torchlight Run down the Main Run at
9:00 pm.

Fernie Alpine Resort also has something for the entire family on New Year’s
Eve. Horse drawn sleigh rides will be available from 6:00 pm to midnight.
The Torchlight Run and BBQ is a great activity for families with kids aged
six years and older. Enjoy a burger and beverage around the fire at the
Bear’s Den, followed by a ski down the Elk Run. Fernie Alpine Resort is
also offering the Kids New Year’s Night Out, a kid’s only party for ages 6
to 12. The kids will enjoy indoor and outdoor games and activities,
complete with a horse drawn sleigh ride, games, tobogganing, a movie and
snacks. This fully supervised event runs from 6:30 pm to 1:00 am. And
finally, for the big kids, groove in the New Year at the Grizzly Bar to the
sounds of The Jeremy Walsh Band. Enjoy a complimentary mid-evening snack,
glass of champagne and party favors to ring in 2004. Doors open at 8:00 pm
and a limited number of tickets are on sale.

In Lake Louise, a line up of elegant dinners and entertaining activities is
on hand at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Or, if you are staying in
Banff, be sure to make reservations or get your tickets for one of the many
festivities taking place at restaurants and nightclubs.

And once you awaken to the New Year, enjoy the first day of 2004 on the
slopes at Lake Louise, Fernie or Kimberley.

“The mountains are calling you to enjoy the best of the holiday spirit and
good times with friends and family”, says Matt Mosteller, Senior Director of
Business Development with Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. “Happy New Year
from all our staff at Resorts of the Canadian Rockies”, added Mosteller.
