Dear IFSA Supporters,
The International Action Sports Alliance finally officially launched on January 24, 2004 in Aspen , Colorado to the delight of everyone in the know, in the action sports industry.

This marks the beginning of a new era for the individuals in the action sports area as the new association promises to empower and protect the individuals in all of the action sports by uniting them together under one large umbrella organization.

The purpose of this coming together of the masses or ”herding of cats” as it has been appropriately stated, is multi-fold...

Primarily, bringing everyone from all of the sports together as a larger mass enables the association to negotiate more and better benefits for everyone involved. One recent surge forward was the attainment of an accident insurance plan specifically for the members of the Alliance, through AFLAC.

Another goal of the Alliance is the formation of their individual “Athlete Boards”.
These groups of a handful of people from each sport will be chosen by the member base as spokespeople and representatives of each of the individual sports, empowering those involved and giving each sport a voice regarding important issues, such as athlete safety at specific events. Each sport will have, in turn, the support of the Board of Athletes from the other
sports to increase leverage in adverse situations and further empower the group as a whole.

In general, the IASA, a non-profit association, was formed to provide a solid platform of benefits (accident insurance, dental plan, travel discounts, etc), to provide peer support and to cultivate a powerful community of members working together for the good of all of the action sports. The IASA strives to remain neutral and to support the already established action sports associations as well as athlete management groups, agencies and industry companies.

In order to get the association going quickly and to start with a powerful voice, the Alliance is providing 10,000 Charter (free) memberships to individuals from now until April 15th, 2004. - Everyone is encouraged to email the Alliance ASAP at jparker@actionsportsathletes.com to establish their complimentary Charter membership status.

Charter membership includes a self- promotional “Spray page” on the IASA website
(www.iasasports.com) . This page is auto-populable and may be changed by the member whenever desired (new competition results, new photos, whatever you want!) simply by logging onto the IASA site with member name and password. (see “Spray page” on the IASA website www.iasasports.com).

Charter membership also includes the opportunity to take advantage of the very affordable new accident insurance policy, provided to IASA members only, through AFLAC. This insurance policy is the best value available
in the country and is an excellent plan especially formulated for people involved in action sports and can be purchased on a month to month basis.

Step up and join forces with the Alliance to be a part of the first all encompassing action-sports association in the world! Created, owned and managed by the members- the individuals of the action sports community….

Email jparker@actionsportsathletes.com now to begin your Charter membership. Include your name, primary sport, email address and how you
heard about the Alliance. Charter membership is only valid through April 15th, 2004. After April 15th, Alliance memberships (including the travel discounts, dental plan, etc) may be purchased for $59.95 annually.
