Whistler buzzing with excitement in anticipation of epic parties and events
WHISTLER, BC, April 14, 2004 The best pro snowboarders from across the
globe are converging on Whistler this weekend for the infamous Ripzone
Snowboard Invitational. From April 16-18, riders will battle it out for
over $55,000 in cash and prizes in the Superpipe, an athlete-judge SuperHit,
and an epic nighttime Big Air competition.
This years Ripzone Snowboard Invitational returns to its roots with an
spectacular nighttime Big Air competition at the base of the mountain.
Featuring top riders and soundtracked by hip-hop masters including Prevail
and Moka Only of Swollen Members, Kia Kadiri, Emotionz, Mat the Alien and
many more, the Big Air competition is the end of season blow-out and is
expected to draw a capacity crowd.
As always, organisers of the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival have taken
steps to ensure that the Ripzone Snowboard Invitational is exciting and safe
for competitors and spectators of all ages. Festival organisers, the Resort
Municipality of Whistler and the RCMP are also reminding visitors that
alcohol and glass will not be allowed in Skiers Plaza.
Kicking-off the Festival with a thundering roar, the Ripzone Snowboard
Invitational delivers a stellar line-up of action and is the dont miss
