ALLISON CROWE
Combining classical virtuosity with the improvisational qualities of jazz
and the gale force of gospel and rock at its most visceral, her original
voice is impossible to pigeonhole. Fans of Eddie Vedder, Tori Amos, Elton
John, Mahalia Jackson and other remarkably diverse acts, have all been drawn
by her call.
CURTIS SANTIAGO
Winner of the 2003 Galaxie Rising Stars award, Curtis Santiago delivers
smooth vocal stylings, and cool beats. Curtis has worked with a variety of
artists including Swollen Members, Kyprios and Vinyl Ritchie.
GOB
Vancouver-based Platinum pop-punk quartet GOB boasts three years on the
Warped Tour and is poised for continued stardom with the release of ‘Foot in
Mouth Disease’ – their first album for Arista Records.
GROUNDWERK
Groundwerk is the brainchild of Montreal producer and DJ, Grandtheft, one of
the most in-demand urban music producers in the Montreal area. Groundwerk
has been contributing tracks to compilation CDs and are working on a full
length CD due for release in the summer of 2004.
JAMES (ALEX) MURDOCH
Yukon born James Murdoch formed his quintet to take his message of Pop
liberation to the masses. Soon the word was out and news spread of James’
mind-blowing, high energy, live performances like wildfire on a Yukon
hillside.
KIA KADIRI
>From soulful singing to rap to spoken word, Kia Kadiri does it all. She has
opened for such heavyweights as Rahzel, Mix Master Mike, Swollen Members,
Choclair, Spearhead, and Ivana Santilli, and has recorded tracks with Moka
Only and Prevail, Kinnie Starr, Wicked Lester and Stink Mitt.
KILOCEE
Kilocee is one of Vancouver’s hip-hop pioneers and has the uncanny sense of
what hip hop fans want to hear. He has worked with a wide variety of talent
including Mat the Alien and Incredible Ease.
KYPRIOS
Vancouver native Kyprios is an MC who delivers a unique brand of hip-hop
that seamlessly blends rapping, singing and harmonizing. A member of
Sweatshop Union and a mainstay in the Vancity underground scene, Kyprio's
work has caught the recognition of fans and critics with a renaissance style
of rhyming laced with socially conscious lyrics.
LILLIX
An all-female band nominated for two Juno Awards (New Group of the Year and
Pop Album of the Year), Lillix is set to strike North American audiences
with their rambunctious, pop-infused rock and roll on Falling Uphill, the
band's Maverick Records debut.
SENATE ARCADE
The delivery of raw emotion can be heard from this energetic trio from
Seattle Washington. This band is an obvious escape from conventional,
over-produced rock and roll. Pulling influences ranging from new wave, to
post-punk and throwing in more than a few tricks of their own, their sound
is refreshingly original.
STOLE MY BEER
She Stole My Beer was brewed in Vancouver in 1986 and has become a legendary
party band on Vancouver’s North Shore. The band is socially based and
driven, having emerged out of a four-piece band of friends fresh from high
school. She Stole My Beer spits out rootsy rock with Deadhead rhythms.
VINYL RITCHIE
Vinyl Ritchie a.k.a. Scott Arkwell has been a Vancouver favourite for over a
decade. Ritchie has proven himself to be the master of hip hop, house and
with his eclectic mix of styles, he can go from AC/DC to dance hall classics
in the blink of an eye.
