DrakeBoinay, Ltd or db skis, has released their new line-up of freeride skis and a completely revamped version of dbskis.com. I know that everyone releases new skis, but there is something different going on here. If you haven't heard of these, guys you will. The key to db is innovation. Not cheesy, useless features, but rather cutting edge ski technology.

Here's part of what makes these boards different.
Patented carbon technology makes db's significantly lighter, yet more
powerful and durable than traditionally constructed wood/metal skis. I
know that carbon fiber conjures up ideas of something delicate, but
having felt these sticks, I can assure you that's not the case. With
snowboard thickness edges, and a layer of Kevlar sandwiched under the
base, these skis are literally bulletproof. Throw a pair of Naxos on these boards and you've got the lightest, burliest touring setup I can imagine.

db has also kept serious shredders in mind when lining up the shapes for
this year. Their little guy is the "R" at 116/80/104. The workhorse of
the lineup is the "Surreal," killing the whole mountain at 126/95/113.
Last, but not least, is the the Tabla Rasa at gargantuan 142/120/127.
That's right, a buck-twenty under foot.
But the best part, and another example of why these guys are something
different, is that each shape is available in a selection of flexes and
sizes to meet the needs of individual skiers. db is introducing a
numeric "pound" flex rating system that allows customers to compare
different db flexes to one another, as well as other skis on the
market. You get online, and totally customize the ski for your ability and the snow pack you shred on.

"For 04/05 we have built on the success we had with last years skis and
refined important shaping details. We are excited about what's been
accomplished. The skis are performing beyond our expectations and
unlike any ski ever built before," says db co-founder, Stephan Drake.

Running at $880 bucks for each set, regardless of shape and desired
flex, db's are also a bargain. For example, compare the price of the
Tabla Rasa to other huge swallowtails on the market and they are a steal, even if they weren't totally customized to you...which of course they are.

The company is also unveiling a new website. "We created the new
website to enrich the user's experience," says db co-founder, Cyrille
Boinay, "there's more information, not only on a technical level, but
also in terms of culture and community experience." Just a quick browse
gives the impression that the boys behind db love their product and the
ski world in general.

Be the first kid on the block to own a pair of these black beauties.
Buying db's helps support small business, and moreover, innovation. New
ideas are what saved skiing ten years ago and what will keep it
charging hard in the future. Check it all out at: www.dbskis.com.
