The 10th annual Telus World Ski and Snowboard festival officially kicked off today with a healthy dose of Snow and festivities. Whistler has received about 2 metres of snow over th past 2 weeks. This gift has transformed the mountain magnificently. The past two days were spent skiing with the Ragin Cajuns, Stainer Carmichael and other local Rippers. Today saw Spanky's ladder open for the first time in 48hrs and faceshots were received in multiples.

The coming ten days are easily some of the most fun times to be had in Whistler all year. Today the village was packed as tonnes of skiers and travellers gathered to listen to the trip hop of the String Cheese incident. Tomorrow the Snowboard events kick off to a World class lineup of Athletes. The 10th annual festival will play host to be witness to the first slopestyle event ever run as part of the festival.

This 10th festival is packed full of entertainment for everyone. The mountain is in great shape to shred with good coverage everywhere. For literature, art and film lovers there is a plethora of activities. Some of the festivities include:

International Film Maker Showdown


Aside from these amazing art Festivals there will also be some of the best Snowboarding and Skiing to take place. Whistler is host to the best Athletes in the industry for Slopestyle, Park and Pipe.
