April 3, 2005 – Whistler, BC – The best pro snowboarders from around the
world are primed to hit Whistler for the World Snowboarding Invitational,
April 8-10. With 84 cm/34” of new snow in the last 7 days, the Blackcomb
Terrain Park is in perfect condition for the riders to go big. Earlier
concerns about the snow pack have been nullified, and the riders will battle
it out with epic conditions for a purse of $50,000 in the Superpipe, the
athlete judged SuperHit and the highly anticipated Slopestyle competition.
The World Snowboarding Invitational kicks off the 10th annual TELUS World
Ski & Snowboard Festival, known for 10 action-packed days of music, arts and
sports events running April 8-17.
