With 100 cm the week before the comp and a full on bluebird, conditions couldn't have been better for the Volkl Big Mountain Day 1 Qualifiers at Treble Cone in Wanaka New Zealand.
With 100 cm the week before the comp and a full on bluebird, conditions couldn't have been better for the Volkl Big Mountain Day 1 Qualifiers at Treble Cone in Wanaka New Zealand.
With only the top 4 women, and top 8 men making the cut to the heli access finals in Mt.Albert backcountry. Competition was fierce! Some sick lines were put down.. but most importantly everyone had a sweet as time!
New Zealand legend Geoff Small took top spot today with a lead of over 5 points! He will be joined in the Heli by: 2.Tom Dunbar NZ, 3.Marcus Waring Canada, 4.Alaistair Eason NZ, 5.Hamish Acland NZ, 6.Alex Lynden NZ, 7.Cory Zila USA, and 8. Aurelien Ducroz France.
On the Womens side Janina Kuzuma from Australia took the womens field with a solid as run. Joining her in the finals will be 2.Jo Guest of Scotland, 3.Kate McDougall of NZ, and 4.Kress Durfee from the USA.
On the next bluebird day the qualified competitors will be taken to the amazing Mt. Albert by Heli......
