Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort has teamed up with Sysco Intermountain Food Service, Pepsi and the Utah National Guard to offer a day of free rides on the resort's Alpine Slide, ZipRider, Bungy Trampoline and Aerial Tram. "While locals get to soak in the views of the Wasatch daily, the huge mountains are new to many of the evacuees at Camp Williams," said Snowbird President Bob Bonar. "We hope everything from the ride up the canyon to free activities will give them a positive introduction to Salt Lake's backyard." Transportation arranged by the Utah National Guard will transfer evacuees from Camp Williams to Snowbird where they will have free reign of the Little Cottonwood Canyon resort's activities from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. A barbecue lunch on the Snowbird Center Plaza Deck will be provided by Sysco Intermountain Food Service and Pepsi. Snowbird is currently accepting and matching donations to the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund. Through Sunday, Oct. 9, guests and employees can make donations to the Red Cross as they pay for everything from Oktoberfest bratwurst and beer to resort-wide lodging, activities and food. Snowbird will match guest and employee donations up to a total of $10,000. Snowbird also has posted links to the Red Cross on its website www.snowbird.com
