...Goes around. And I ain’t talking hippie Karma either. Either this ass-clown is going to get what he deserves from the courts (and hopefully subsequently from his cell mate BUBBA), or maybe when next time he bites off more than he can chew. These types always end up getting it in the end. They don’t stop being sh!theads, until someone stops them. I just hope the wakeup call comes sooner rather than later. This may be the only time in my life I say this but… Capt. Fantastico is right. Whether “the man” discourages it, or we do it the old fashion way, the message needs to go out loud and clear. Maybe next time they’ll jump a tourist, and then MAYBE we’ll start to see a reaction from the powers that be. I say, don’t ban him from the hills. Let him have a special pass that gives him full access, but entitles the liftie running the chair to drift him one in the face every time he gets on. Lets see how attached to boarding he really is. Well hopefully they find him guilty and then he will face a stiffer sentence than if was to have plead guilty, but there is also the chance that he'll get off with a slap on the wrist too!!

Hey did anyone here about a conflict that broke out at sunshine on Boxing Day. Supposedly a young looking guy in the Trapers Pub was asked for ID, he didn’t have any so he was told to leave by the bartender. The guy then starting making threats to the bartender and wouldn’t leave. The security at sunshine was called and they escorted him out side wear he punched one of them. They tackled him to the ground to hold him and got jumped buy a bunch of the assholes friends from inside the bar. It was like 2 on 6. one of the security from sunshine got a broken nose and a few teeth knock out. What the hell is your ski resorts coming to. People need to leave that shit in the city. I should start a new post for this

Justin Case had his court first appearance today in Banff and he has been scheduled to attend court on January 16th, 2006 to enter a plea. Just thought some of you 'might' like to know.

How about we all buy Crashidy and his friends some beer and let them go beat the fuck out of this guy? Hell, they'll do it for free I bet, I hear Red Deer locals are mean like that.

Keep in mind he's 23 and a snowboarder so he probably still lives at home with his parents.

[quote:a248189740="Down and Left"]Banning someone from a hill makes sense. I remember seeing a photo at Castle of a guy banned for 2 months for poaching a closed line. This certainly deserves a harsher penalty than that.[/quote:a248189740] I recall hearing a story about this (I think). Had a hilarious picture of the dipshit that poached a slope patrol was about to bomb. They chased him into some houses around the base area and caught him hiding somewhere. Took a picture of a few patrollers escorting his ass somewhere with a caption to the effect of 'banned for petty poaching'. In another story, I mentioned this to AltaPowderDaze and he said 'That's the difference between us and you, our patrol, ski school and trail crew would have just kicked the shit out of them and left it at that'.

by on Nov 29, 2005
Wow thats crazy. Thats what happens when you get guys who come out to the hills twice a year and think there tough. I bet you he is the same type of guy that starts fights at parties and shit like that. I say ban him at least in banff and surrounding resorts. But it could be kinda tough to do so. Soon were gonna have to show photo ID to buy lift passes. Crazy bullshit is all I can say

Not that it is relevant, but...snowboarder. I think the name deserves to be posted and I am trying to get it and will post soon.

Whatever man. Violence against other people is just straight up Bullshit. I stay away from physical confrontation. Obviously the person who did this lacks any level of intelligence. I feel bad for the kid for being such an idiot, for one, his parents must be morons to have raised such a fuckup, and number two, the chances of a guy that does something like this ever getting anywhere in life are pretty slim. This guy obviously has no self esteem and deservedly so. He's a weak minded little man.
by on Nov 29, 2005
is this the story of the snowboarder that was using a "slow" sign as a paddle/pole to move acroos some flats and when challenged he went all mall ninja on the patroller? or a different incident?

Was the antogonist a boarder or a skier - just curious?
by on Nov 29, 2005
I am still suprised this never made the Calgary media? Did it make Banff radio or paper? I know Sunshine is trying to keep this quiet and they have a lot of pull with the Calgary media.
by on Nov 29, 2005
It was basically just the one guy. But there is unconfirmed reports of someone holding down the patroller in this meelee. The other guys really assisted in breaking the fight up and weren't directly involved.
by on Nov 29, 2005
So it was just one guy?? and his 5 or so buddies just let him go at the guy...really nice...ya, you should post his name on here, hell, and a picture, I hope he gets his ass handed to him in court. Maybe some good lovin' in jail is what he needs.
by on Nov 28, 2005
Post the name, please! Just curious.
by on Nov 28, 2005
^^^ hah, how about an email addy too?
by on Nov 28, 2005
The guy that did this is completely screwed in the head. He didn't show any remorse and was quite proud of the fact that he had done it. Would it be inappropriate of me pass along his name?

[quote:97eb0c2bc7="kneedeep"]My support goes out to the guy. I can't believe this is actually true...unbelievable. But I have run into some patrollers that are complete dicks and could provoke these (unjustified) attacks from certain people. I have been surprised by their "police like" attitude which is ABSOLUTELY not necessary since everyone is there to have fun. Maybe these patrolers are just on a power trip, but it does bring a bad image to all those awesome patrollers out there.[/quote:97eb0c2bc7] If you to tell kids everyday to not take down the avie signs and build booters out of them. And the little shits gave you attitude everyday. You'd probably get a "police like" attitude. Especially when it's your responsibility to ensure proper signage is up and people for the most part are safe.
by on Nov 27, 2005
Amazing what can happen on the hill. Patrollers were attending a pile up at one of the Aussie resorts and things were a bit heated. One of the ambulance officers asked who caused the accident and a patroller pointed to a guy in a blood bucket. He then jumped up and pulled a knife on the patroller and continued to take out his aggressions on the company management when interviewed afterwards. Must come from a different world to us I think.
by on Nov 25, 2005
^ Yea, once in a while a patroller has a bad day or whatever and maybe gets a little angry, but the vast majority of the time they're really nice. I remember once my friends beacon I was borrowing broke and a patroller lent me her beacon so we could grab a run in on the dive. You can tell these people were just retarded assholes in the first place, because they were using the signs as shovels. Even if the patroller did get really pissed off he had a reason to be pissed.

Damn, that's unbelievable. Sh*t maybe patrollers need to follow what the Edmonton paramedics do and start wearing kevlar vests and stun guns.

Unreal!!! Let's hope they were all season's pass holders and at the very least got their pass taken away. Banning them for life would be a nice idea, but I don't know how they would in-force it. thetoad, any idea how old these guys were?
by on Nov 25, 2005
its not true. or the sunshine operations manager is not allowed to talk about it.

I'm assuming this will show up in a paper or a press release somewhere.. i'm way out of town.. someone post it if they see anything.. curious about what the hell happened.
by on Nov 25, 2005
Can anyone say court date and a digital camera and post their picture all over everywhere.
by on Nov 25, 2005
What the hell is this world coming to?? Like who were these guys?? escaped convicts out for a day of riding??? WTF?? I think these guy's pictures should be posted all over snowriding communities forget banning them, just cut their achilles tendins, they'll never ride again. Guys like those do not deserve the priviledge that our mountains provide for them. Let us know if there is some kind of fund to help the patroller out, or maybe SSV is covering all his expenses anyway.
by on Nov 24, 2005
Wow. Thanks Toad,... I needed to have that confirmed, it's been really bothering me since I first heard it. What the F**K!?!?! That sh*t makes me so angry it's hard to even deal with thinking about it. I didn't want to repeat how badly I heard they beat him, cuz' it just sounded so grusome. And to think that he had just dealt with a death that he treated... ahh man,...my heart goes out for this guy. Like CalgaryMike, I hope these guys are identified. I'd like to see their pictures...I'd like to see them get harassed at every ski hill they every try to step on. Shame. ...Not that that will help this patroller - he deserves some mad support. ...Wow.
by on Nov 24, 2005
That is got to be one of the worst stories I've heard. What a bunch of assholes. Throw the book at them and ban them from every ski hill in North America. Hopefully they're legal age so their names get published so they are shamed for their actions.
by on Nov 24, 2005
Ban for life from SSV...?
by on Nov 24, 2005
How's the patroller doing? I really hope he recovers as soon as humanly possible. I can't believe some assholes would actually do this, and I hope they get what's coming to them. The Canadian justice system probably won't be able to do shit all - but I hope Karma pulls through. Five or six people?!?! How the hell are five or six people THAT retarded?!?!? After all the hard work SSV ski patrol did this year I thought that they'd be respected by everyone - I guess not.
by on Nov 24, 2005
Unreal. At least they caught them...
by on Nov 24, 2005
This isn't rumor... this is true. Same patroller guy looked after the guy that died this year. About 5 or 6 guys beat the shit out of him pretty good. All the patrollers, ski school, snow crew came from all over the mountain and surrounded the group until they could get the RCMP involved and charges have been pressed.
by on Nov 24, 2005
What the fuck? I doubt that's true, well, I hope that's not true. If it is (again, which I doubt) be prepared for some ranting!
