Following a week of chaos in Las Vegas, Biglines.com headed to the promised land, not Jeruselum, but the Fluffy Powder heaven of the Wasatch range. Joe Smith cruised into Utah and made it his home. That leaves us to wonder, "what was it about Utah that made all this possible"? Well, Brighton answered our questions. It was the fluffy powder and lack of crowds that made for an atmosphere that anyone can bow their heads to. Read on for the Video.
Brighton Powder January 29-30
Leif, Rob and myself enjoyed deep freshies daily on the 200_acres that makes up Brighton Mountain. We came away with some good leg burn, happy hearts and huge smiles. It was all around good times and we'll surely be coming back for more
Brighton was founded way back in 1936 by the Wasatch Mountain Club. From its inception, Brighton has been a family operated resort. The hill went from a rope tow to T-Bar to the first double back in 55 when the good'ol Mary Double came into action. From then on it was chair accessed freshies. In 1991 Brighton was sold, but the founding family still runs and operates much of the resort. Brightons terrain access was enhanced in 91 by their first High Speed Quad. This was quickly followed by another Quad and Triple over the course of the next couple of seasons.
Brighton gets Utahs award for being a diamond in the rough - a hidden gem so to speak. There are a tonne of great cliff features, trees and wide open terrain. The Backcountry access is incredible and the solitude is second to none in Utah. When Alta and the Bird have backbreaking lineups, Brighton is wide open to shred. Check out more details at
