Panorama Mountain Village – Panorama Mountain Village is excited to be hosting Downhill Rider’s 20th Annual Sunpit Safari from April 7th –9th. This year’s production promises to be one of the best, featuring an exclusive on mountain concert with 54-40.
For the past twenty years, hundreds of skiers and snowboarders have traveled by luxury coach liner to enjoy this legendary, adrenaline-filled weekend. The schedule is filled with slope shredding, exciting on-mountain events, epic parties and live entertainment!
"We're really excited to welcome one of Canada's truly iconic bands to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this event and the 25 years of success of Downhill Riders," said Eric Ommundsen, Director of Sales & Marketing at Panorama Mountain Village. "54-40's music fits perfectly with the core Canadian spring skiing experience of Sunpit Safari at Panorama Mountain Village - our guests and staff can look forward to a fantastic time!"
On Saturday April 8th, guests of Downhill Riders Sunpit Safari will rock out to dozens of hits by one of Canada’s favourite rock bands until 7 p.m. “In 2005, 54-40 returned to the Canadian pop music landscape with a new member, a new label and a brand new album – Yes to Everything. Collectively these developments represent a reminder that this enduring quartet remains one of Canada’s pre-eminent ambassadors of modern rock.” www.5440.com
“We are stoked to be presenting one of Canada’s top bands on stage for our guests,” says Ted Allsopp DHR’s president, “we couldn’t be happier to take our weekend and turn it into an even more exciting experience.”
The rest of the Saturday April 8th Sunpit Line up, happening in the middle of this electric weekend includes:
DJ Wil C, who takes to the tables from his 16ft DJ tower at noon, to spin up a collection of music, which will ensure a rocking experience under the afternoon sun!
The Classic Slush Cup event makes a big splash from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Adrenaline hunters get a 200 meter run to hit a jump, and attempt to clear a 30 foot pool of ice water while hundreds of fans cheer them on!
SHAG hits the stage to really get the Après party fired up at 3:30pm. Disco may have died in the 70's but SHAG has brought back the funk. This West Kootenay disco band has inspired fans not only to dust off their old records, but their pristine polyester too.
