The Festival kicked off in its usual fashion. Whistler just received a healthy dose of great snow - entertainment around every corner and a village packed full of skiers, snowboarders and celebrities. Visit Whistler now and you'll feel like at least one of the above.

Whether you're here to party or here to ski and party, all of your needs will be fulfilled. The mountains have received over 30cms in the past 48 and today we woke up to blue skies up high. After a 12 hour drive on friday, the last thing I expected to walk into was a Kokanee free Bif Naked concert at the Longhorn, but sure enough - thats where I was. The festival has grown in size and stature each year and this time I get to take in the environment through the eyes of a non-skier. Friday night kicked off the 72 hour filmmaker showdown which goes down on Tuesday - video cameras are rolling everywhere, capturing the highs and lows of the festival.

Saturday dawned and the baby steps in my recovery took on a new dimmension as the Whistler Gondola delivered me to the Alpine. The fresh snow made for a great show as Air Jordan got sessioned right as the Peak opened. I got to meet big mountain snowboard legend James Oda aka Yoda and check out his 202 swallow tail by Prior If you want to check out the mountain, but you can't ski - then just hop into the www.sno-limo.com. Yes I said it - you can slip into the lazy boy style chair with skis on it and get chauffeured around the blue and green runs on Whistler.

During the day was the Concert series, Whistler Dog Parade and wrapped up with the McDonalds Rail Jam. Leading up to the jam the mountain got nuked again and dancing girls entertained the masses on the mainstage.

Today sees the Stompede finals, live music, multiple parties and more. Stay tuned as we bring you regular updates, articles and videos. Enjoy.
