Every day through August: Wildflower Walks
Take a 20-minute wildflower walk at the summit with interpreters from the U.S. Forest Service's Nature Center. Walks are at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
All Mondays through Sept. 4: Grizzlies Unlimited Slide Show
Join Tim Rubbert for a free slide show featuring our favorite predator and other flora and fauna. Tim shoots his own photos and is always updating his program. Meet at Kandahar Lodge at 7:30 p.m. for the hour-and-a-half show.
Tuesday mornings through Sept.5: Free Educational Nature Hike
Join Tim Rubbert for a free hike down the Danny On trail. Tim leads guests down the trail during an approximately three-hour hike. Meet at the Guest and Information Service's booth at the bottom of the Chairlift 1 at 9:45 (season pass or lift ticket is required for a lift ride to the summit).
Tuesday evenings through Aug. 22: Tuesday Night Bike Races
Tuesday Evening Race League has mountain bikers on variety of trails. All abilities and ages welcome. Drop-ins welcome for anyone who wants to race a night at a time - (406) 862-2900. It is $10 per race.
Wednesday-Sunday: Free Wagon Ride Trips
Bar W Guest Ranch operates free wagon trips from the bottom of the Chairlift/Gondola to the upper village 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Wednesdays and Saturdays through Aug. 12: Free Art Classes
Art Treks are free art classes offered on the mountain by Stumptown Art Studio, which is based in Whitefish. Except for an adult photography class, all art supplies are provided. Noon until 2 p.m. Kids meet at the pond slightly uphill from the Chalet/Hellroaring building, while adults meet at the Summit (ticket or pass required).
Wednesdays and Fridays through Aug. 25: Bike Day Camp for Kids
Join the Big Mountain Bike Academy, a program designed for riders 8-17 years. Drop in for a day of riding with these folks. Riding is from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Call (406) 862-2900 for registration and other information.
$30 for drop in
$10 lift per person (if they don't have pass)
$15 bike rental 12 & under
$25 bike rental 13 _
Saturdays July 29, Aug. 12, 29: Free Search and Rescue Dog Program for Kids Doggie Detectives has rescue personnel and their dogs educate kids and train their dogs. Kids hide articles of clothing for the dogs to retrieve. They also "hide" themselves to be "found." Meet in front of Moguls Village Pub. 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. Saturdays, July 29, Aug. 12, 29.
