It took thirty-one years to happen, but finally a film about Noboarding made it into the BANFF MOUNTAIN FILM FEST…. The film that was just an idea which spawned into a full fledge project screened in Banff on November 3rd before a sold out crowd at the Max Bell Theatre. The short 10 minute film showcases the story behind the Noboard, a binding-less snowboard created by Greg Todds. It also shows how the sport has evolved since its conception with the riding skills of Skye Sheele and Scott Penner.

The film kicked off the evening and was introduced by film makers Dave Mossop, Cholo Burns and Spencer Francey. Among the crowd was co-producer Eric Crosland and Director of Photography Frank Derosiers. Not to mention almost
the entire Noboard population on the planet who drove in from as far as Whistler for the opening night. Screams and cheers were in full effect for the film and it was well received by the crowd.

It’s also been chosen for the World Tour of the Banff Mountain Film Festival.

The entire crowd of Noboarders and what seemed like the entire snowboard community of Banff crammed into the Magpie and Stump after the film for a second screening, a drink or ten and some high fives.
