Sponsors/Support if any: I ride for myself, but that gets expensive sometimes!

What makes you passionate about skiing?
I really enjoy being able to forget about all of the problems in my life and just letting myself go when I’m skiing. It’s the best release anyone could hope for. It’s like a natural high.

What are your aspirations in skiing?
I want to be a terrain park designer. I want to build jumps and rails for competitions like the US Open and X games. And I’ll probably be the only female doing it!

Who are your current role models or who inspires you?
Doug Bishop, for the amazing park he creates every year at High North Ski Camp in Whistler.

What is your greatest personal achievement in the mountains?
I would say becoming a terrain park ranger for Vail Resorts. It was a huge step for me because I came from a very small ski hill in Vermont that barely had a park. To be a park ranger at Vail is a immeasurable accomplishment for me, especially because I am a female.

How have you dedicated your life to the mountains and adventure?
I’ve been skiing since I was two and building terrain parks since I was 15. I’ve worked at ski areas since I was eight, usually not even getting paid.
I graduated high school a year early to be able to ski full time.
I was always waiting for winter to come. Even when there was no snow, I would use ice rink shavings to hit urban rails.

Why have you dedicated your life to mountain pursuits?
I love the sport. I can’t keep myself away from it. I had an ACL surgery and couldn’t wait the 7 months of recovery, so I skied anyway and tore it again.

What are some things the mountains has taught you that have proven valuable in the real world?
Don’t Eat Yellow Snow! And don’t leave trash on the mountain, that’s the worst thing ever.

How will the scholarship enable you to further pursue your skiing aspirations?
As a college student, I have barely enough money to go any where. I want to move to Whistler after I graduate: it’s so beautiful up there and the skiing is amazing. When describing it to others, I call it heaven. I don’t have enough money to make it there yet, but I’m going to try to. I think that my career path will flourish in Whistler. I’d love to get my name out there and have a chance to build parks for the best of the best.

How can you be a Biglines.com ambassador?
I do a lot of promotional work for my job. I have to advertise Vail’s park and get word out about sick new features. I also go to Colorado Mountain College, and I’m majoring in Ski Area Operations. So I have a lot of connections with many companies and different kinds of people. I could get any word out about Biglines.com in a very short period of time.

Comments- I am really used to being a girl in a male dominated world. In one of my classes at college, I am one of two girls in a class of 50 guys. I am also trying to promote more women into the sport, since I am usually alone when it comes to park designing. If any girls out there need info on a great college or want to learn more about ski area operations, check out http://www.coloradomtn.edu/.
