You can't fake a Powgasm!!! What do you call the Euphoric feeling you get from skiing fresh Powder. A POWGASM!!
Powgasm 10mgsDo you ever wake up on the perfect day and want to ski an amazing line? Do you ever want to feel one with the mountains you are skiing on, the ice and snow that clings to the rocks? As skiers we all enjoy the moments of life when forward motion and the pull of gravity down the face of a big mountain? Exploring new places and searching for new lines and enjoying skiing deep Powder with good friends. We have these spiritual feelings when we are skiing in the Coast Mountains of BC in area of Duffy lake and Mt. Currie. According to the The Lil'wat Nation. The people and the land are one?.
Jump turn after jump turn creates the burn in the legs and the yearn for more soft powder snow. When you stand on the top of a mountain like Mt. Currie, you have to respect yourself as well as the mountain. Once you drop in and start making turns, the excitement builds and the pleasure becomes strong. This is why Powgasms are so addictive. While today we enjoy this special place it is important to realize the history.
The Salish First Nations people were the first to call this area their home when they settled at the foot of majestic Mount Currie. This is the traditional territory of the Lil'wat Nation, who today are headquartered in Mount Currie. The Coast Salish First Nations people inhabited the land around Whistler for many thousands of years, hunting and gathering and living a nomadic lifestyle on the land.
The Mount Currie settlement and mountain were named after Scottish settler John Currie. After failure to find gold in California and the Cariboo, Currie turned to ranching and finally settled near Pemberton with his Lillooet Indian wife in 1885. Little did he know how many skiers would enjoy multiple POWGASMS on this beautiful mountain. Every time I ski down Mt. Currie I feel the oneness of this special place. Dropping 7,000 feet down to the village of Pemberton, Mt. Currrie is an awesome sight. Be One with the Mountains, and respect all.
Just remember, You can't fake a Powgasm!!!
