THE COLD SMOKE AWARDS 2007

The Cold Smoke Awards is a unique platform designed to give independent filmmakers a venue to showcase their latest work in an environment that encourages interaction with the audience, as well as fellow filmmakers, and industry professionals. Similar to the Academy Awards in format, this exciting, eclectic and zany awards ceremony is the finale for the winter season, and sure to be a wildly illustrious party. Don’t forget to dress in your most classic and ostentatious ski garb. Live music at the after party.
It is the goal of the Cold Smoke Awards to bring the innovations and new talent of the mountain culture to the big screen. The CSA is a venue for all levels of filmmakers. We are seeking all walks of independent winter filmmakers; from professionals that strive to enchant their audience with mastery and innovation, to amateurs searching for their first full scale exposure.
Any outdoor winter genre is welcome (ie: skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, kite skiing, ice climbing, life style etc.). If it’s on snow, anything goes. We would like to see more than just skiing and snowboarding this year. Make us laugh, make us cry, show us something you maybe shouldn’t have tried!
The People’s Choice
*This a free event, with beer specials from Deschutes and Bozone

The People’s Choice is the kick off event for the Cold Smoke Awards. The purpose of this event is to give the audience the opportunity to view films in their entirety, and cast a direct vote on their favorite film. A casual setting creates an opportunity for filmmakers to get direct feedback from the viewers, and promotes networking between filmmakers, athletes and other talent. The winner of this event will be presented with an award at the 2007 Cold Smoke Awards. This is a party not to be missed.
The peoples choice will take place at the Pour House
Freeze Frame
Freeze Frame, New West’s winter video contest, is giving Westerners 60 seconds to capture winter in the Rockies. The winner of this contest will be shown at the 2007 Cold Smoke Awards, and includes two Filmmaker Passes to the event and a ski, spa and stay package at Moonlight Basin next season.
