Biglines had a set of the Movement Goliath's to ski and put through their paces this winter. I handed them out to a few friends with a Fritchi mounted on them and gave the order to go shred. With plenty of pow to farm this winter, the skis got a workout. Weighing in at 135-108-124, 191cm they are big ski, but Brian and Steve wouldn't give them up and skied everything on them. Read on see what they thought and watch the video.

Stevie Brawn had the following to say about the Goliaths-
"So I lucked out this year and was given the chance to ski a set of Movement Goliath ski's with a new pair of Fritchi bindings. I have to say they took me a bit to get use to since I've been on a stiff pair of squads all season, but after a few day's at Whistler and hiking around the backcountry, they grew on me and were hard to give back.
Obviously with the sheer size of these ski's they're meant to stay in the powder, and they turned out to be quick in the trees and easy to initiate any size of turn. I even had the chance to hit them up for a couple of little straight lines out at Kicking Horse where they held their own and gave me a smooth stable ride. In the air, they are a tonne of ski to land on so they were easy ride away from anything you want to go huck yourself off of.
I was able to take them out for a number longer day tours out to Rogers Pass, up the Duffy (past Pemberton) and out to Fissile (back behind Whistler), where they were light enough to hike all day on and able to save enough energy for the ride down. They turned out to be a great touring ski and a ton of fun.
I found the Goliath easy to ski and great for any intermediate to advance skier who wants to step it up to a bigger ski. It's definitely not the stiffest ski on the market making it pretty forgiving so it won't get ahead of you.
The Movement Goliath is a great ski to add to your arsenal.
Please give me more ski's to ride."
Brian Baker's perspective pretty much backed up Stevie's verdict.
"When I first saw these skis, I was a little shocked at how big they looked. I was thinking this must be a quiver ski for super deep pow days, and that's about it. Little did I know that I would be surprised once I had a ride on em'.
They offer a soft predictable ride that is fun in all conditions. It is kinda like the big tough looking guy that has a big soft and sweet spot. I skied this ski on Pow, slush and hard pack ice and they preformed great! The skis will turn but they also provide a lot of float for the pow and surface area to cruise through crud and slush!
It is a ski that deserves a test drive. It reminds me of the saying that you can't judge a book by it's cover.
Happy pow reading….uh I mean riding!!!!
What do Movement have to say about their ski?
A BIG addition to our line, the Goliath was developed with our team rider Evariste Berney, our new monster is out to crush the super-fat ski market. Big skis demand big speeds to really enjoy…staying in the alpine is perhaps a good idea. Unlike other big skis however, testers have commented again and again that this ski has amazing stability, versatility and easy release from turns. It is a friendly giant! Winner of Powder Magazine’s Skier’s Choice and Ski Press Magazines Award of Excellence and Award of Best Buy.
