New this year is the addition of the Video Jam. A contest that offers people a chance to film their “wild side” whilst using Diamir bindings. Video hounds, amateur and pro will shoot their best footage of backcountry skiing or boarding, backcountry experiences, etc. edit it into a film - 3 minutes max., apply the appropriate tunes and try to win one of three categories – most extreme, funniest and most creative.
Each category will win a pair of Diamir Freeride Plus bindings and other prizes totaling almost $4000! Check out the website for more information. Deadline for submissions is April 6th, 2008
The Diamir World Backcountry Freeride Jam
The Diamir World Backcountry Freeride Jam takes place during the wild atmosphere and celebration of the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival. The DWBFJ is the arguably the only event at the TWSSF that allows, encourages and supports public participation. You don’t have to be an elite athlete to experience the incredible range of activities and it is all FREE!
The heart and soul of the Jam are the multitude of free product demos and skills clinics. To encourage more people to enjoy the backcountry and to try big mountain, off piste skiing and boarding we have to make it accessible
and non-intimidating. The top of Whistler Mountain is our Backcountry Headquarters, The North Face Backcountry Village. It is where all the action is and where you can try the latest backcountry equipment, tele gear, take instruction from guides, instructors and professionals to learn new skills and practice new techniques.
The DWBFJ is a not for profit event.
