Calgary, AB – Resorts of the Canadian Rockies is once again
playing host to the RCR Kokanee Halfpipe and Slopestyle events at
Nakiska on March 1st and 2nd.
Snowboard competitors are gearing up to compete for $5015 in prize
money in the RCR Kokanee Halfpipe on Saturday, March 1st, 2003,
while the Slopestyle event on Sunday, March 2nd, will see a cash
pool of $4815.
The RCR Kokanee Halfpipe and Slopestyle events are rapidly gaining
in popularity amongst the snowboarders with opportunities for athletes
to compete at a highly competitive level. The Halfpipe competition
will feature some of Western Canada's best up and coming athletes.
Halfpipe became a full medal sport at the Winter Olympics in Nagano

Olympics in Salt Lake City. It is a true spectators' sport. On Sunday,
riders will gather in the park to perform a variety of jumps and
tricks earning them points judged on different factors.
"The RCR Kokanee Halfpipe and Slopestyle brings in exceptional
snowboard talent and unsurpassable entertainment for spectators",
