Monk better known for his underdog win at the WSSI Halfpipe event
last spring in Whistler stomped all three of his tricks despite
other competitors troubles with the mushy landing caused by on and
off rain during the day. The rain on the lower mountain meant snow
up top and conditions will be favorable for this week's Fernie Freeski
Competition to start on Wednesday.

Event organizer, Dave Hawry's, showed his stoke for the 1'st annual
big mountain event with an enormous lawndart over the big air jump
complete with oversized fats and backpack to give the crowd a taste
of what is to come this week. For surely not to disappoint. For
