Fernie Alpine Resort’s summer season is filled with exciting events for the
entire family. The summer begins with Wildlife Education Weekend (June 28 &
29), a great event for the entire family with informative displays and
activities providing information on living and playing with our wild
mountain neighbours. Fernie’s educational Wildflower Walk ‘n’ Talk is back
Saturday July 12 followed by the always-popular Geology Walk ‘n’ Talk on
Saturday July 19. Fernie will once again be welcoming riders from across
the nation at the Canada Cup Mountain Bike Series (July 26 & 27). For a

The Timber Express Chair will be taking over mid-summer providing mountain
bikers with an additional 1,132 feet of vertical. Hikers will be able to
enjoy two new interpretive trails through the alpine of the Currie Bowl and
Lost Boys Pass and sightseers will sit at more than 5,500 feet to take in
the incredible views of the Elk Valley. Upon completion of a connector
trail from the top of the Timber to the Lizard side of the mountain, bikers
will be able to access the existing trail system and their favorite routes.



“Not only will we providing guests the opportunity for a new experience with
the Timber Chair this summer, but we also have a line-up of events and
programs to entertain all ages and abilities,” says Medody Kultgen, Sales &
Public Relations Manager for Fernie Alpine Resort. “Whether you are here
for a relaxing getaway or an adventure experience, Fernie has the summer
vacation to suit everyone’s needs.”



Fernie Alpine Resort’s Summer Sports School provides a variety of programs
for all ages and abilities. Little Adventurers (ages 2-6) and Kids
Adventure Camps (ages 6-12) are offered daily on a half or full-day basis.
Discover Mountain Biking provides first-timers with a lift pass, bike rental
and instruction to get started and Fernie’s Tennis Instructors are on hand
to help perfect that stroke. For the more adventurous, whitewater rafting
can be arranged, or just sit back and enjoy a Starbucks coffee on the deck
