Fernie, B.C. – Fernie Alpine Resort is pleased to announce that the
award-winning adventure filmmaker Peter “Peru” Chrzanowski has chosen the
resort as one of the locations for his Extreme Film Course from December 8
to 14, 2003.
Peter Peru’s Extreme Film and Expedition School is the world’s finest and
only program to teach filmmaking of this kind. In its second year, the
one-week intensive course takes students through all aspects of making an
extreme film or video, including conception, fundraising/sponsorship,
production, post-production and marketing. The course, which will be held
on location at Fernie Alpine Resort, is open to international as well as
local students interested in this field. The course fee includes
accommodation, lift passes (if required), meals and instruction.
Peter is an adventurer specializing in high adrenaline action/adventure
documentary films, dramas and photojournalism. As a veteran filmmaker of 25
years, Peter has international experience on a variety of productions and
expeditions. A graduate of Simon Fraser University in Film and
Communications and a member of the Director’s Guild of Canada, Peter’s films
and documentaries have won awards around the globe including the Yorkton
International Film Festival, Sea to Sky Festival in British Columbia, and
Festival of Maritime and Exploration Films, in Toulon, France.
“I’m especially excited about the great snow and photogenic terrain which I
have always experienced here in the past,” says Peter Peru. “I look forward
to exploring more ridges and bowls with participants and their cameras at
Fernie!”
