Following last year's encouraging viewer response, the Extreme Sports
Channel has announced a second deal for rights to show programming from US
sport and lifestyle festival,
the Gravity Games. The deal, made with sport
content provider Octagon CSI, enables the
Extreme Sports Channel to show
ten hours of coverage from the Cleveland based sports, music and lifestyle
event which includes the biggest names in extreme sports. Top pros
competing for the highly valued Gravity Gold medals included big draw names
such as BMX legends Dave Mirra and the UK's golden boy Jamie Bestwick,
motorcross freestyler Travis Pastrana and spectacular vert skaters Bob
Burnquist and Bucky Lasek.
Extensive sports coverage from the Gravity Games are to be shown as part of
the channel's Endless Extreme Summer strand running from May to August,
also home to the world's most exciting and high profile extreme sports
events.
Extreme's Head of Programming and Acquisitions, Andy Warkman stated that,
"Gaining the rights for the Gravity Games again this year goes to show our
commitment to bring Extreme's viewers the best action sports events and
programming in the world".
