Invitational kicks off 9th annual TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival April 16-25 WHISTLER, Canada, July 21, 2003 - Organizers have announced that the third annual Ripzone Snowboard Invitational, the grand finale of the worldwide competitive circuit, is scheduled to take place in Whistler Canada April 16-18, 2004. The Invitational has the prestigious position of kicking off Whistler1s legendary springtime blowout, the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival, this year taking place April 16-25, 2004.

Details of the Ripzone Snowboard Invitational, such as featured disciplines,
prize money and competition formats will be announced following extensive
athlete and industry Œdesign team1 meetings, to take place later this fall.

3We1re already looking forward to planning for the 2004 event,2 says
Ripzone1s Adrian Millar. 3We1re gathering feedback from the athletes and
monitoring the direction of the industry to determine just what 2004 will
look like so that we continue to attract the best of the best and raise the
bar on competition each year.2

Last year1s Ripzone Invitational saw Whistler1s Marc-Andre Tarte take first
place in Big Air, Guillaume Morriset and Natazsa Zurek stomping the
Superpipe, and Simon Chamberlain and Leanne Pelosi taking top places in the
inaugural Ripzone Jibzone.

The Ripzone Snowboard Invitational is part of Whistler1s 9th annual TELUS
World Ski & Snowboard Festival, a 10-day, 240 hour, 14,400 minute 3blast of
rock and awe2 (Vancouver Sun). Produced by Whistler-based event design and
production agency W1, the Festival presents 50+ free concerts,
world-renowned ski and snowboard competitions, inspiring film, photography
