Pimpin' Frogz is the combination of Alex Paquin, Thomas Chamberland in association with Pierre Yves Leblanc and Élise Turcotte. The idea first came after a day of tearing Whistler in February 2001. We just thought it
was sad no one was around to capture the level of skiing that was happening. So we put some numbers together, gathered all the footage we all had of ourselves, brought it to our late friend Aaron Allibone and we edited our first teaser. That was enough to get a little bit of attention to get the project underway. A year and a half later, we were presenting our baby to the world, First Strike. It was cool to see the project go from an idea to a final finished product.
During the promotional tour for First Strike, we couldn' t stop thinking about what we could do different and what could be improved for the next film. A definite improvement focus would be on cinematography. We also partnered with Shawn Anderson that films on Super 16mm. After a tough year of shooting where the weather just wouldn' t cooperate, we looked ateverything we had and we were just shocked... The quality of what we had gathered was way beyond what we thought we had, thanks to ultra motivated people like Ian McIntosh, skiers like Hugo Harrisson, Mike Douglas, Dana Flahr and many more... We then really focused on editing, spending months in the studio, studying every little detail. The end result is REALITY, enjoy the bounty...
