Tim Barker is the last but not least of the BMCP crew to be featured for this year's scholarship. He is a shredder in many disciplines of snowboarding and definately on the way up.

How have you dedicated your life to the pursuit of freedom, adventure and lifestyle?

While most of my friends I graduated high school with are going to university to prepare themselves for a life of cubicles and boring-ass jobs, I'm cleaning shitters over the summer to finance my addiction - snowboarding. Nothing makes you feel more free than, even with all the other options in life, choosing to bust your ass and do whatever it takes just so you can do what you love and what makes you happy. The struggle itself is an adventure.

Describe your best trip: past, present (last year), and future (upcoming).

As for past trips, the Air & Style comp was fun shiznit (love the Alberta drinking age), as well as the many mid-winter trips to Manning. Next year I forsee many sick trips with the Big Mtn Can crew (or wait, i mean 'krew',) hopefully with a sled or two. Kickin' it horse style.

What are you trying to accomplish with your skiing/snowboarding? How is this significant to our community?

My general plan is to just be an all-around rider in every way....except racing because as cool as hardboots and grape-smuggling speed suits are, I just don't think
I would cut it. Butter 270 lipslides on a little box are cool and everything, but to be able to do that and then bust a risky line down T2, throw a rodeo 7 off the backcountry booter at the bottom, do the same thing in the park the next day, and have some pipe skills to boot is definitely impressive and what really deserves recognition, in my opinion. The world of film making is also something I want to get into more, there's just endless possibilties when it comes to what you can do
these days with a half-decent camera and a Mac. There's so many new production companies coming out these days, which is good because you have to actually make a quality product to stand out from the crowd. Big Mountain Canada Productions is one of the quality ones. Straight up.

Any other comments you’d like to make?

Big-ass thanks to my parents & amp; fam, big brother Chris who constantly keeps me in check, Ryan Johannesen who teaches me something new every day on and off the hill, Nick Posso, Dover Goldberg, McPhoto, Chad Nogler a.k.a. Knob Gobler, Kye Grace, Yan @ Rossignol snowboards, Matt Standish.

"Don't ever let someone make you feel like you don't deserve what you want" -some dumb movie quote that is actually really true
