Two Days of Unlimited Powder – but Safe!
Arc’teryx, Black Diamond, Fritschi, Fullmoons Ski Shop, and Nokia invite you to the premiere of the Backcountry Happening, The Big LePowSki, in Davos Pischa on 7 - 9 March 2008. The participants will be attending two workshops for two different levels on how to plan their own tours, how to read maps and how to avoid avalanche dangers, so that everybody can safely enjoy maximum powder snow in the backcountry. The program will be rounded off by a film with Ueli Kestenholz, who will be there in person, and a party with a live band and a DJ will follow afterwards.
Freeride Workshop A for Beginners
A professional mountain guide will accompany beginners on their trip Fascination Freeride on Saturday and Sunday. After an introduction into the subject “Moving in Off-piste Terrain with Safety” we will enjoy marvelous runs away from crowded slopes. In the course of this event, you can test the latest ski models from Black Diamond with Fritschi Diamir bindings, skins and safety equipment as well as outerwear from Arc’teryx – all of it high-end equipment especially designed for deep powder! On an avalanche training field you will learn how to use an avalanche transceiver in the most efficient and quickest way. Freeride Workshop B for Experienced Freeriders
A professional mountain guide will help you to plan your tour for the next day on Friday evening in the Wallhalla Bar in Davos. We will offer information on the area of Pischa, show you the best runs and where you will find the best powder snow – all of it under the aspect of staying safe. On the next day, enjoy your self-planned tour with like-minded riders! Freeride-pros invite you to a discussion on the current avalanche situation and on every other subject concerning safety in the backcountry. After your tour we will review your exciting day in the backcountry in the Montana Bar in Davos as well as award the best Freeride photo. The big LePowSki Show
Presents the third dimension on skis with the breathtaking film “Play Gravity” in the Montana Bar (Davos). Afterwards, rock with “Trio from Hell” before the Dude and Walter take over the Bowling lanes. Entrance fee for the presentation, film, and concert: CHF 15,--. The presentation with Ueli Kestenholz begins at 9.00 p.m.
