Shredlock Holmes winning the King of the Hill Race via the Coffin on Whistler. That’s definitely not the guy’s real name, but anyone who does The Peak Chair’s most notorious straightline in melt freeze conditions on a pair of downhill skis deserves mega props. Even if he’s got squirrels living in his hair. Dr.’s Carl and Randy Sandypuss making a reservation for two at the Old Spaghetti...

WTF is the Gathering? .... Was my first thought when Leah Evans gave word that I would be hitting the road to Rossland, BC for a 3 day party at RED Resort. I set off from Revy with fellow Gatherers, Garrett Grove and Bruno Long, a couple of modest photographers who would be presenting slideshows at the event. Within the first hour of the drive Garrett and Bruno had anxiously proclaimed how...

It’s slightly ridiculous that this isn’t the way it’s always been, but I’m stoked to see that our local Big Mountain Competitions are opening up their registration lists to snowboarders. Freeriders have always paid less attention to the trite rivalry between the two factions of snowsliding than anyone else, so it’s only fitting to have both disciplines represented in the competitive arena of our...

Revelstoke is the center of the freeride world this week as it plays host to the first ever combined event of the Freeskiing World Tour and the Freeride World Tour. While this even is always an exciting show, this year in particular, the field of athletes is incredibly stacked. The combination of the two tours has brought out the crème de la crème of competition talent and that this year’s comp...

Every year their siren song lures powder hounds into high altitude wilds, occasionally at the peril of the under-prepared. On December 11th, Rosslander, Trevor Campbell will unveil the result of eight years hard work and a...

Last night was a glorious exception to the rule that I ALWAYS work during the worthwhile movie premieres in Whistler. As the rest of the town gets to kick back and take in some snow porn, I’m always stuck pushing large amounts of food and booze onto needy visitors. Since life went and handed me such a nugget of awesomeness like that, I decided to lace up my movie-watching shoes.
