A good winter for Panorama this year. Jan 9/10th will be a storm to remember. Cool temps and a fair amount of snow through march saved the year, and setup some great spring riding conditions. Credit to Oliver Smith for additional shots.

In season 5 episode 4 of Teton Gravity Research's web series Almost Live Colter Hinchliffe, Dylan Hood, Tim Durtschi and Sage Cattabriga-Alosa head to Austria to film for TGR’s newest film Way Of Life. The crew spends a few days orienting themselves in St. Anton’s web of chairlifts, waiting for good snow. Eventually it dumps, the sun pops, and the boys have an epic booter session.

“Hey, you wanna be in this next shot?” asks Jay Trussler, one of the filmers for Sherpas Cinema, in the Glacier Express liftline on Blackcomb.“All you have to do is sit on the chair and get stoked on what you see,” he goes on. “You probably won’t have to act too much.” Jay recruits one more skier for the foreground of his shot....

There are those who will argue that bigger isn't always better. Most of them haven't experienced all of 8171 acres, 5280 vertical feet, and 200+ trails, that is Whistler Blackcomb's in-bounds terrain.

Snow. Our common obsession. It covers our steep craggy terrain and rounds out the sharp edges to make Whistler Blackcomb rideable like nowhere else on earth. This is the story of how we are transformed every winter, told through the distinct visual artistry of Sherpas Cinema. This is the snowboard version....check the ski version here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZ31ukqTkoo&feature=...

Located on BC’s famous “Powder Highway,” RED Mountain Resort just hit overdrive: On August 1, 2012, RED began developing our most significant expansion to date: Grey Mountain. This two-year expansion adds almost 1,000 acres -- and a whole new mountain – to our already epic 1,685 acres.

Wonder. Is it a place or a state of mind? Are there places on the planet where wonder concentrates? Where it gathers, amasses, pools, comes in the night by the dumpload to bury yesterday's tracks? Or is it just a state of mind, a way of looking, a filter through which you see the world, wherever you may be?

Wanna see why this Chilean chap is so jazzed about his run? You would be too if you hopped off the lift and dropped into a meaty line like this, especially if you were a North American gringo and it was happening sometime around the end of July.

This season pretty much sucked for most of us in the States. With the lowest snowfall in recent memory, good days this year were few and far between. I can count on one hand the number of pow days I skied. I can count on several more hands the number of times I said to myself, "I hope there are no rocks under there." Yet I still managed to have fun on low snow pack and variable conditions. This...

The mountains have given me inspiration. The ski industry has nourished my career, however; I cannot support such a pillage of our backcountry.Since the making of this, local decision making has been stripped from Kootenay residents and willingly given away by local government.
