I must be out of the loop or something. The backside opened today and i didnt hear about it untill now. Did they have it planned or did they just decide to open it today because of the the new snow?

Yeah, strange. I did not hear a thing. Would have been nice to cut the fresh with all the people in the know.

It was sick! as per the norm. Not as much of a base as last years opening day but the pow felt just as deep and lighter. It was in the paper (Vernon) yesterday and on the snowphone. There were rumours all last weekend, after skiing it on tuesday management decided to open it. Even sunny glades had great coverage, I love it when you can do super G turns down runs like headwall and sunny glades. No Fing moguls. If you go up tommorow Alder should still have some untouched left.

Yeah those moguls are pretty gay. Good to hear it you got up there. I wasnt expecting it to open till next weekend because of their small snowbase. Theres always next year..... Was it busy at all?

There was more snow on the upper portion of runs like headwall and free fall than at the same elevation on the front. I think that all of the light snow blowing around combined with the 2 past storms really loaded it up with that north wind this week. Did not hit a thing except alder. It was the quietest opening day that I have been to. I think it caught a lot of people by surprise. If anybody wants a ride to KHMR for Sat I am leaving on Fri around 5ish from downtown Vernon. room for 1 person.
