Jake Blauvelt is easily one of the best snowboarders going these days. He's got an unmatched style and a solid freestyle background. Well, that is to say, she’s better than me. And that can be a hard thing for an old balls rider like myself to admit. But really, it comes as no surprise. I used to be a snowboard instructor at Powder Springs, which was the tiny, one-lift ski hill that pre-dated Revelstoke Mountain Resort.

Ralph Backstrom is known for his ability to dominate the Freeride Competitions in less than ideal conditions. So that means he can really shatter barriers when he gets himself in the perfect pow around Valdez. Mr.Backstrom's a total boss. This one's worth dropping into.

Here's another sick episode of Balance, featuring Joey Vosburgh. Basically, a man's gotta pay the bills and Joey talks about the trade that allows him snowboard as freely as he does. The standout from this indy shred flick would be Miikka Hast, of Jones snowboard fame, but the whole thing is a pow-filled adventure undertaken by a posse of excitable European snowboarders. And it's 25 minutes long, so it will keep you from thinking about the real world for a decent portion of your day....
